  • Photography practice - Session 2

So, I have practised photography for the second time now and to be honest, it was quite a bad experience. My friend's camera was way too old, flash got spoiled, buttons everywhere so I got too confused to make good photos. Anyway, just wanna show off a little of outcomes here for fun!

The model is my secondary school mate. She looks so sweet, adorable and girlish at the same time. She also possesses radiant skin with a pinkish touch on her cheeks. I love her smile, so lovely and bright.

  • Just got back

I just got back from a wedding & reunion trip from Malaysia – my second homeland. Everything was fantastic with a few highlights:

    1. The wedding of Reuben & Joanne: with the so-called theme “A clown and his nurse”, a wedding was such a blast with innocent white & romantic lavender balloons forming the aisle for the bridal march. A banquet was hilarious and exciting with the contribution from Reu’s friends – clowns and non-clowns, comedians and also a lot of pretty ladies (including me). It blew me away with the fact that I met up so many good old buddies from college.  We laughed, we shed several tears of joy, we ate lots of good food and also fooled around the groom and his bride. I already threatened them that they must fly over for my wedding one day and guess what? They all became so excited about an overseas wedding.

    2. I stayed with Von during the entire trip. We drove, we sang, we got lost and we laughed it off. It was such a great blessing when I enjoyed the stay totally free of charge with cosy apartment room (Von’s room), fully furnished bathroom (just that the light bulb was gone already for a while) and a spacious kitchen and big fridge (with only fruits, chocolate and hazelnut coffee). I also enjoyed Von’s new coffee place – The Old Town White Coffee, originated from Ipoh with our favourite hazelnut coffee that totally pulled my hair awake once in a while. We had it everywhere, the airport, the neighbourhood and we even wanted to pop in when seeing it in the Summit shopping complex. Anyway, a little of self-control must have been practised since both Von and I became good girls, who just ate and slept to recharge. Why? Because we were both stressed out.

    3. I was surprised knowing that the entire circle of lovely sisters I have is still consisting of single ladies (Von, I, Cheryl, Jo, Sandra, Mei, Eileen). That really made a difference because when we gathered and talked, we didn’t talk about kids, diaper, napkin or spilling baby’s food. But I’ve gotta meet Xiao Fan’s & Patrick’s little girl – Amy, who is already 9 months old. When I talked to Amy with baby language (I guess what she understood was different from mine), Von just looked at me and shook her head. And also being a proud aunt, I started showing April’s pictures around and also confirming that April looked like me when I was 3 months old (that’s from what my mom told me, btw).

    4. My stupid credit card didn’t work in certain outlets when we did a little of shopping. It ruined my mood for hours and made me hesitate to purchase any further. God is good for warning me that way. In the end, I just got myself a few tops, a pair of simple NOSE sandals and a few books. I would come back in December for Christmas so I guess that would be a greater time to shop more (until I really drop).

    5. I met up with Jit and Eng Him for a late night drink. He looked much better with smoother skin (thanks to the diet discipline Eng Him applied on him) and much healthier glow (again, thanks to the caring lovely wife of his). We talked and as usual, after updating him what has been going on over here, both of us started talking craps again and laughed our heads off. As I remembered, the craps were something to do with banana and peanut butter (it was his beverage) while mine was orange and peaches.

    6. I became quite a panda after the trip as I always had less than 5 hours of sleeping (except for the day after the wedding). Both Von and I were on the move all the times, meeting this person and drove to see another one. But I managed to see quite a number of folks before flying back. Oh, before I forget, I must say I was lucky as I almost missed the flight back home. Thanks God everything turned out fine in the end.

  • Rainy days

I got my curtain up! Hooray!

Today, again, was a tough day at work. Plus, I got my period and shoulder-ache for weeks. Never ever felt any better. And hey, that was a sarcastic statement of mine!

I need to get up early tomorrow morning to take Joy for a poop-pee walk as my mom requested. Rainy season makes Joy uncomfortable with the wet road and she tends to conduct her not-so-nice “business” inside the house, which drove my mom nuts. Joy kept shedding her furs around and mom got so annoyed with that. She asked me to take Joy to see the vet but I got no time for it yet. I kept promising mom that I would but by the time I reach home, the vet has already closed for hours. And again, the rain drives me nuts, too. It turned me sick, made Joy poop and wee in the house, and led to my mom’s temporary insanity.

But the rain also keeps me being romantic for a while. Looking at the rain from my window (now I got my curtain, the rain would stand no chance) gave me such a weird but romantic feeling. Some of you (especially guys) would definitely think I’m such a nut-head but yeah, that’s what you get for being a girl, dudes. And I’m listening to Cascade now, which is suiting my mood so perfectly.

    “From London to Paris,

    From Berlin to Rome,

    You’re searching for something

    A place to call home…”

Yes, same as you, I wonder the same thing. What’s the relevance between Rome or London to the rain? I don’t know and I don’t care. The song just suits my mood, that’s all.

And then, I turned to look at my bookshelf. Oh good Lord, all my books there are just for display purpose only because I’ve already finished them all. I’ve already searched and got a few book titles here. I’m going shop for them when I’m in KL.

    1. I’m so happy for you – Lucinda Rosenfeld
    2. What she saw – Lucinda Rosenfeld (again)
    3. Sweet Caroline – Rachel Hauck
    4. This charming man – Marian Keyes (my favourite writer)
    5. Crack in my foundation – Marian Keyes (her again)
    6. Stern Men – Elizabeth Gilbert (another favourite writer of mine)
    7. The lost symbol – Dan Brown (hooh hah! That’s it, baby! I’m going to grab you home!)
    8. Act like a lady, think like a man – Steve Harvey (interesting book, talking about the difference between the way men think and how women act)

There are a few more books I want to shop for but they were listed as “coming soon” and I just desperately wished to know how “soon” “coming soon” was.

And Harry Potter is coming out in the theatre. I can’t wait! I’ve never read a book of Harry Potter saga because the way they were written is never my style. But I’ve never missed any movie of its series. Weirdo, am I? It’s interesting to watch how a wizard kid grows to become a handsome fine young man with surrounding friends (who are also wizards). To be fair, H.P is a winning story as it can touch all ages, bringing all of us back to our childhood imaginary games – using magic and make some fun. No wonder it became so popular and its author became a millionaire.

Wait a minute, I have not shopped for 2 banquet gowns for Reuben’s wedding yet. Oh no, Yvonne is going to kill me. I have only almost a month left for getting the right dresses to fit the theme.

Morning church ceremony – lavender or violet colour (Okay, that sounds romantic!)

Evening banquet – satin pink or metallic red (Wow!)

And I couldn’t find any pair of violet or satin pink shoes under my closet. I just have a pair of scarlet red high-heels which look so dramatic which will go perfectly with a scarlet red dress and scarlet red lipstick (not hair). For goodness, when I get this month salary, I need to fix my eyes on them before I rush for the trip again. Oh, bloody me, bloody me!!!!

Okay guys, I’m off now, trying to get some sleep before I die off. You will have more stories to read if it continues to rain this way, lolz!

  • Public Enemy and my Sunday

    johnny_depp

Mom was not home and I desperately need her here. I am having a bad shoulder-ache and only she could deliver a massage that helps. I felt a bit unwell today. The weather wasn’t that uncomfortable but I guess it was the rain yesterday I caught after watching “Public Enemy” stared Johnny Depp.

I always love Johnny Depp, his dangerous, mischievous, quick and sharp eyes and outlook. He looks like he’s always up with something in mind, which is dead sexy to all women. His character in this movie, the once famous and fearful bank robber in the States’ history, John Dillinger, fit him perfectly. For a bank robber, the only 4 successes Dillinger has obtained only:

    1. Rob the banks whenever he wanted and wherever he wished

    2. Broke out from prisons whenever he wanted

    3. Fall in love with a girl and had her love him back

    4. Die being shot, not being sat on the electric chair

His love was a quick-win but so fast in bed. The tanned girl dressed in hot sexy red dress cost only $3 dollars. She wasn’t sexy the way female celebs are nowadays, enormous boobs, fair skin and so blonde, dressed revealingly. She was kind of modest in dressing, auburn hair with medium curls, sincere face with big deep eyes and slender body, leave alone the normal breast size. I think Dillinger was attracted by her natural charisma and honesty. She told him straight in a face that her dress only cost her $3 dollars and she didn’t feel ashamed when putting on a cheap thin coat during the mid-winter of Chicago. Frichette, her name, a French mixed Red Indian lady, was proud of what she was made of even though it scared so many men off her.

And Dillinger didn’t give it a damn, by the way. He was shit, too, having bad childhood, no proper education, flirting with the legal and anti-crime system of America. Poor girl met a thief, they sounded like a perfect match for each other. Dillinger was a bank robber, a professional and dangerous thief but he also had a heart. He didn’t mean to kill a cop or anybody else. He wanted to protect and share his wins with his pals, rescuing them from the prison and provided them what they needed. In the end, he was still a man who knew how to fall in love and cared for the one he loved. I felt touched when his face sank seeing his girl getting arrested. They were supposed to run away to sunny beach with golden sand and stay there for the rest of their life. But life was too short, for Dillinger, wasn’t it? I felt sad for him. He had no way back. But he didn’t want to turn back. He accepted his destined ending during the Mahattan Melodrama movie with just a smirk. Brave boy, Dillinger! Excellent actor, Depp!

I cried when Frichette cried. She knew it would happen but she kept hoping for good things to come to them (not her alone). Poor girl! She always wanted to earn some respect from the current society where they judged you from what you wear and if you have fair skin. I think with  my tanned skin, I would have become slave there, for sure. Copper skin wins nowadays. It’s so hot that even girls with fair skin feel ashamed and must buy fake tan colour cream to apply on themselves. Just to look a little sun kissed. Gosh, girls never feel enough for natural look, do they?

Back to Dillinger, sex was not the focus in his relationship with Frichette. It was how they felt for each other. The sense of belonging. The sense of matching. The sense of a having a girl who loves him for who he was, not what he did. But well, when they made love, I was surprised. In the 60s, people still got their clothes on when they were in bed? That was strange. I understood that Frichette had a beautiful and slender body so why not show it off? It was just showing a little skin anyway? I am not a sicko but seriously, I got a little disappointed when she made love with her slinky gown still on. And it was amazing how Dillinger accepted that she kept her gown on. Hell yeah, if I were Frichette, yummy, Dillinger, oh sorry, Depp! I think I should slow down on sex life or my imaginary sex life, lols.

Back to myself, I am a little feverish today. I was coughing and upset when I couldn’t talk properly over the phone. I spent all day in my room, watching The Spirit and The Internationals with my comforter wrapped around just like a spring-roll, no less. When I was tired with the movies, I just rolled around and slept all I wanted. Nobody bothered me. I got steamed rolls for lunch (thanks to my big bro) and spaghetti with seaweed & long cabbage soup (weird, isn’t it?). Mom just got back but she was so busy with April and Gabbie so she couldn’t deliver her legendary massage yet. I hope I am getting better as tomorrow is going to be crazy again. Monday and its blues. Guys, I’m going to get some sleep now (even though I had a lot already). I’ll update more on the movies I watched and hope you all wouldn’t sleep off half way while reading. Loves!
